Does anyone know the MX Records for the Exchange hosted service at Orcon?

We have spent 2 months getting 2 mailboxes setup with them and now we are on the final bit where we need to change the MX records, and orcon told us to change them to mail.orcon.net.nz which seems unusual because I would have thought they would have run two mail systems, their normal ISP mail cluster and their Exchange cluster.

Surprise surprise mail then started bouncing.

Anyone reading this I wouldn't recommend them for Exchange hosting. It's been painful.

I tried mx1.iserve.net.nz which only gives a temporary failure 451 and mail.hosted.orcon.net.nz which gives a insufficient resources but looks like a exchange SMTP server.

Not sure if their SMTP inbound is broken right now or antispaming me.

Surely if you are paying them, they are the ones to ask, and they are int he best position to answer the question too. The one they gave you sounds right, I don't believe you need two to be entered.

Well you would think giving them money would be a incentive to supply support, but sometimes :-) We have ticket number xzn-261379 opened last Friday, and are now calling them every day. This is the third ticket we have had open to get 2 hosted mailboxes workign

We tried both those SMTP servers I guessed and it's not accepting e-mail for the domain we have setup, so either wrong SMTP Servers or their Exchange setup is not missing something for this client.

I was hoping someone on geekzone would have a client hosted on the Orcon Exchange and would be able to tell us the SMTP.

I might just can the whole thing and go with Telecom.

Yes I have found they are hopeless at replying to the support tickets. They are as bad as NZ post at replying. I wonder why these companies even bother to provide an online support system.
