After cutting the voice part off on my mobile account for days early last month I decided to get the hell out of the freak show slingshot call a mobile service. So signed up with 2degrees pay monthly and tested the account for a few weeks. That was all good so new got the number port rolling with 2degrees to get my number out of hell into a more peaceful place. It took more than 24 hours to finally get a text from 2degrees "your number is moved". Great me thinks! old slingshot SIM is binned good riddance. Days later I discover I am loosing a lot of calls and texts from people who are normally in contact with me. WTF is going on. Do some tests 2degrees and Telecom NZ are fine but any calls from Vodafone or there MVNO's go to voice mail. Dig out my old slingshot SIM and what do ya know 20 million messages and texts on a still active SIM. Talked to 2degrees they say all good at there end, now they have to wait for slingshot to get back to them as it looks like a problem at there end. Man I am far from happy now.

Hope its sorted for when my XT deal runs out, but really I cant say I have had any more problems with slingshot mobile than people I know on vodafone have with the network itself. Have had no need to interact with customer service to do with it so that may be a problem.

What was happening to cause you to port? I would be going to XT when the time is up if anywhere, but really as a voice only phone its working great.

Was moving as I needed a lot more minutes and texts. I was on the XT deal as well (Got to pay to get out of plan - I don't care about that). I added a data plan and they cut my voice services off and put me on a data only plan. Not a single person(I talked to lots of people) at slingshot had any idea what was wrong with my account. Johnr had to fix the problem at the Vodafone end. Had it with slingshot and there incompetence. They can all rot in hell I hate them. Very pissed.

Ah ok, at the 26c rate I can basically use what I need and its cheaper than any other telco. I have one of the sims I got when moving over sitting around unused (will be with my lost 2 degrees sims too I bet)

Only thing that will make me move is needing 3g when I get a decent handset shortly, but a water bill has put a stop to that this/next week.

The xt deal was good. But now think the $39 degrees deal for 220 mins and 600 texts suits better (I would use all this up).

Slingshot cost:
220mins @ $0.26 = $57.20
600 texts @ $12.95

Total $70.15

Data is the same for me as an add on...

Slingshot $24.00 for 200mb
2degrees 4 x $6 = $24.00 for 200mb

Till they build there own towers here then a better data deal.Andrew
