Hi,

I get a dialog box every time I make a call on 2degrees on my iPhone 3G S with iOS 4.1 saying "Call Forwarding Active" and a Dismiss button.

I have never used Call Forwarding and it is "OFF" in Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Cheers,

k

Do you have call Forwarding to Voice mail if you don't answer your phone?

This is called OCCF operator control call forward

Yep when I used my iPhone on 2 degrees that happened. No way to stop it as far as I know.
Does not happen on Telecom though even though I have calls forwarded to voicemail if unanswered.

Yes you can stop it

Ask your carrier to remove the divert to voicemail

I actually wanted my calls diverted to voicemail if not answered.

It varies from phone to phone but if you want VM removed please call 200 and they can remove for you.

I have the same problem.

So if you want voicemail you have to put up with the pop-up message?

Correct me if I am wrong in my interpretations here:

Ok so the prompt that has to be dismissed every time I make a phone call to use the keypad etc. Is referring to the call diverting to voicemail feature that just about every cellphone user in the world has as standard?

If that is the case, I am fairly certain people do not have this hinderance on other carriers so is there something that can be done in the case of 2degrees to make this already awesome provider even more aeae?

i get this too, im pretty sure when i was on vodafone, calls would come in via call waiting, and if unanswered go to voicemail. and i never got that popup.

is it just because 2degrees dont support call waiting?

It isn't a bug, it's the way things should work.

If you use a Nokia you'll get a similar message. "Active Diverts" will come up on the screen when you make a call. This occurs if you have VM enabled on your line because there is a divert on no answer active on your line.

The same networking signalling occurs when you call somebody and see "waiting" appear on the screen indicating that the B party you are calling is presently on a call. Some of this signalling may only appear with on net calls, it depends on the way off net voice is interconnected.

The difference being this dialogue we're getting on the iPhone forces you to dismiss it every time before you can use any of the screen and I'm fairly certain people don't have that with other carriers in NZ when using an iPhone :(

My wife has this appear on my old iPhone which she has on 2degrees. It doesn't appear on my new iPhone on Telecom, and didn't appear on my old iPhone when I used it on Telecom.

I'd also love to be able to get rid of the notification.

Yes and I might have been guilty of jumping to conclusions here.

This message that pops up is described as having a "dismiss" button.  I assumed this meant you needed to dismiss the message before proceeding which would "annoy" me.

If the message is like the message on my Nokia, which displays and then goes away as the call proceeds then yes, I agree, there is nothing wrong with this behaviour.
