Hi everyone

I'm changing to 2degrees in the next few days when my current pre pay with vodafone runs out.  I'm a bit confused by some of the terminology, and actually using my phone.  Today I managed to access the internet for the first time with it :-)  I don't often need it for the internet, but now that I know that I can, I want to (if that makes sense).

Anyway, if i buy a datapack does that mean I can use my mobile phone for the internet even if living outside one of the broadband zones, as I do.

Thanks

OTOH, the data packs included with the plans are national data.

To get a feel for data usage just dial *100*1# and you get a real-time data (and phone credit) balance.
(you stated that you are new to internet usage on your phone)
the mobile enhanced pages for trademe (http://m.trademe.co.nz) and the herald (http://m.nzherald.co.nz) are all locatable from the 2degrees homepage (http://m.2degreesmobile.co.nz)

Thanks.  Will only access internet on my phone when away from home and computers.  Currently using my credit up, and will swap very soon.

Thanks for the suggestions

wanghou168: you can only get the $6 national data pack if you live outside the broadband zone

Is this true? Waiting for my sim card to arrive in the post, and planning on going on a plan and adding two $6 national data packs. I live in the broadband zone so will this not be possible?

Yes you can do that. What they are saying is if you are outside the zones the only data pack you can use is the $6/50mb national pack, inside the zone you can use either.

You will be able to buy the National Data pack. Why else would it be called a National Data Pack? and also it says here "NATIONWIDE"  http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/data-packs

Edit: Too late. I was a bit slow. Kept getting distracted by the football.
