Read this post that says 2degrees routes all international traffic to the usa:

http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/414485/?s=e296a378847a881e9d99bbacf3fb0536

Is this true?

We have a link to Miami, but it's not our only one.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

SaltyNZ likes looking down the fibre cable and watching the ladies on Miami beach at the other end.

I think you'll find that NZ ISPs route _local_ (Wellington) traffic through the US (try the SpeedNet test to Wellington from TCL in Wellington).  Routing Australian traffic through Florida isn't that bad.

Since ISPs can't agree on interexchange agreements, they just leave it up to the US backbone to sort out.

Edit: Wait, 300ms mobile ping to Australia, and it's bad?!

Who do 2degrees use for their connectivity? Do they have their own APE/WIX connections + international provider or do they wholesale through another ISP.

And the other one is Orcon?  I tested when Orcon had an outage...
