Ok Ive just wasted over an hour or so of my life trying to setup putty cjb.net and utorrent as 1-7kbs isnt enough!!!!!
I will persevere but can some all knowledgeable being just tell me if they have managed to significantly improved downloads by the above method with slingshot.

I am quite happy to spend more hours setting it up as long as i know it will work in the end.

Unless you are an expert in circumventing traffic management you are probably wasting your time.

Slingshot manage all international traffic flows that they consider bulk or unattended downloading giving priority to real time traffic (gaming, voip, email, general web).

Change ISP and pay a bit more for faster speeds. NZNet and Hosting Direct are offering un-metered plans now, so Slingshot AYCE isn't the only game in town.

I use bitvise to give me socks over SSH to my seedbox.

As soon as you put any decent amount of traffic thru the session, slingshot do their spoofing carryon to close the connection. Same crap they do with VNC etc if you dare to actually try to use the connection.

Yeah, Slingshot are rough with there deep packet inspection but they do have a good torrent cache, I use Vuze with the Ono plugin and have there cache on the white-list, It means I get great speeds on popular torrents.

Doesn't really help when you want to email a file out and they keep killing your smtp connection unless you stop all torrents and wait a few mins. At least tracker updates over the tunnel largly work ok since they are small, but I have to open utorrent before free offpeak so that they can all update, since them all at once causes the tunnel to get closed.

Anyone else spoofing connection reset by peer or connection closed would see themselves in court. I want to know why slingshot get away with it legally.

Are you sure you've forwarded your ports correctly, and that the torrents are adequately seeded?

What about OpenVPN? It uses UDP, it's a bit hard to reset a sessionless protocol.

UDP seems to have quite a low limit on what you can push thru. I have not tried a VPN over it, but allowing uTP in uTorrent maxes out at under 100kB/s and the whole connection becomes unusable for anything else while that is happening. I dont know if the slingshot internet killer box is smart enough to differentiate protocols over UDP. Worth a shot tho.

ICMP tunnel? pfft! DNS tunnelling is where it's at!

(I wonder if they do DPI on ipv6 tunnels)

I am told( and as the guy form slingshot just told me (im the technician not you) That the main reason for my dreadfull service is that I am 3-4 kms form exchange the exchange is "the old Type" which is why my service is bad generally I can live with that
But I use the internet for what is was meant for moving data the fact i use it a lot is a bad thing unlees i am prepareded to pay $200-$300 a month weher my counterparts in Germany UK and USA are paying only $25-$100 a month seems a lot to blame on distance population etc
