For me the key quote from the article is this:
"There is no denying that something is being emitted from those antennas 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - that's a huge concern for me," she said.

This isn't even someone who has done their own research and is worried about emission levels, she's just acting on a hunch that "something" is being emitted.

Silly how these minority of residents will probably end up delaying the network from being built there :(

ROFL LMAO.

We should organise a joint geekzone supply of Tin Foil to keep them safe.

2degrees will be building their towers in tauranga and hamilton this year.

all this whining and NIMBY attitude are not useful and will slowdown 2degrees expansion. on top of that, they are just wasting their precious time. reading the article, i have no idea what is their main concern is. what do they mean by something is 'emitted' from the antennas? can they see antenna in their own cellphone?

i remember my flatmate years back who dont want to use wifi or cellphone because of 'radiation'. we have wifi router in our flat, sitting in front of his room and he had long ethernet cable from the router to his laptop - so that he did not get exposed to radiation like the rest of us.

So many people have been begging for 2degrees coverage there so they can start paying realistic 3G prices, and now a handful of banjo players are standing in the way. It's so clich?d its funny.

What address do we donate the tinfoil hats too?

and the trains dont annoy them, that would stop me living there way more than a antenna.

Common sense is not as common as you think.
