You must not have more than one connection to our service using your user ID at any time. If for any reason you do have simultaneous connections we reserve the right to charge you $5.00 per hour (or part hour) for each additional connection.

Hi dman,

This is in our Terms and Conditions for several reasons.
First and foremost, this is to prevent abuse of the services. If this were not included, it would be possible for users in some situations to have one internet connections on many sites. I.e, one AYCE user, with the connection connected at multiple houses, which is obviously not how the services are intended to be used.
There are also other considerations, such as how our RADIUS servers monitor data, how traffic passes through the network, how logins and security are managed, which could cause problems like inaccurate data usage logs, less secure connections etc, which could crop up, as the network is specifically designed for one user per account.
This clause is to address numerous different situations and cases, and also simply because the service IS sold as internet for a single online session, so it stands to reason there would be a condition to indicate this.

Seems reasonable to me. If the penalty was too low, then it would not be a penalty now would it? Surely the point is to discourage people from doing it?

Note that is per hour! (and per connection) So if you're unaware of this (perhaps somebody took your details) and you only found out at the end of the billing month that would be $3,652! (and multiple it by however many extra connections there are too..)

So? Surely one would take care of keeping an ISP dialup password secret, like they do with their bank card PIN?
