Only a TV for the moment with standard aerial but a Mac Mini will join at some point in the future :)

Thanks.

Probably pointless when so many peoaple are bemoaning their antiquated set ups and crying out for a freeview recorder.
I currently have 5 year old Pioneer 43" Plasma with 230GB TiVo
Pioneer PDP436-XDE
We can always use a 2nd Freeview recorder for the bedroom.

I am going to be moving out in a few weeks, and in the flat we will have my Dad's old 32" LCD, my cheap Samsung HTIB, a PS3, an Xbox 360 and an original Xbox. A HD DVR would be nice, as the people I will be flatting with have been through about 12 TVs in their old flat, and they couldn't get TV reception on any of them because of their flat's crappy roof aerial!

I'd love to update.

My current system is

Samsung Series 6 LCD 40inch TV (with Freeview HD tuner)
Pioneer 5.1 Receiver
Wharfedale Diamond Speakers
Samsung DVD & HardDrive recorder (getting a bit past it now)
Apple iMac 21inch

The oldest, and most unreliable bit of gear that needs replacing is the Samsung DVD Hardrive Recorder. So replacing with a Freeview HD recorder would be great - then add a good DVD or BlueRay player and we'd be set for a while.

42" Sony LCD, MySky, Old Compaq Desktop for streaming a/v files from my server, Nintendo Wii running WiiMC, Phillips Surround Sound System.

Keen to ditch Sky but don't want to lose my time-shifting capability.

Well if i won this it'd give me an excuse to get the mess of cables behind the cabinet organised haha

Can i also add that the HD Homerun has been my best purchase for the media center that i've ever made.

We have;

  • Panasonic 50" Plasma

  • Mysky HD. We record everything we watch, never watch live TV (except the kids do). Issue is managing the space as we record more than we have time to watch, so occasionally have to purge old shows.

  • Playstation 3

  • Mediagate 2.5" drive media player

  • BOSE 5.1 stereo

  • Senheisser wireless surround headphones

  • Digitech 5GHZ AV Sender to send MySky video to the DSE 22" in the kitchen. However the picture rolls badly if I just plug in the composite, so AV receiver actually plugged into an RF converter which then plugs into RF on the TV!

A new Freeview box would really help with complimenting our MySky, however will need to get a new aerial I think as we are on the hill in ChCh and cant get UHF like Prime.

If I won this, I'd give it to my parents. They're using a 42" Philips LCD, Freeview satellite, and a separate SD PVR. Mum especially would love an integrated receiver/recorder - one less remote to worry about!

My current "Entertainment Setup" is composed of a 37" Viewsonic LCD TV with a Diginet Freeview Box and a combo DVD/Video player.  Sound consists of a "hand-me-down" stero system connected into the TV.

Always such a pain to use the Diginet "Record to USB" function so the Homecast HT9200DTR would be of great assistance to an old fella like me.

Here's hoping!

I have an Eye TV USB dongle into my Mac which works quite well for freeview 6 and 7 but my computer can't handle the full HD signal from tv 1, 2 and 3. My Bravia can play back Mp4 files via USB port but unfortunately it doesn't like the exported mp4 files from Eye Tv so I have to plug the Mac into the svga input on Bravia. I use an iPhone app to control playback (rowmote), and the eyetv iPhone app to schedule future freeview recordings.

I have a 32" few year old Sony LCD with built in freeview decoder, got my trusty bunny ears to pick up that sweet sugar loaf high def goodness, and a PS3. All on the tv stand my flatmate built, with built in power and network ports(though my tv isn't plugged into the network anymore, and my ps3 just uses wireless :P).
