Kids just woke it from standby, got a brief picture which was immediately followed by around five seconds of black screen.

After that, back to TV2, but with no sound.

Changing channel up then down restored the sound.

More work required.

Ditto here. Installed Monday night, both Tuesday and tonight, power on brief picture, then blank screen, then came back. Series view reverted to date/time.

I wonder if you can shed any light on the variety of 3.19 I have found on the NZ download server. I can't find release notes for any of these (mtv3600_3_19NZb3, mtv3600_3_19NZb4, mtv3600_3_19NZb5 and mtv3600_3_19NZb6).

Simply bring up the To-Do List to see all the bookings of scheduled recordings, you may not need to scroll through the EPG.

3.19 beta 5 and before are obsolete.

3.19 beta 6 was made specifically for users in Nelson area who experience EPG booking issues, and is not recommended for other users.

3.18 a / b were made for the "reboot after wake up from standby" problem discussed in this thread, and is not recommended for other users.

That's a pity. I'm currently on 3.18B so I shouldn't be seeing the daily reboots after wake up from standby (but I am). Are you saying that 3.19 is not recommended for this reboot problem (or anywhere outside of Nelson)?

I haven't noticed this. Will check tonight when I get home. Definitely haven't had any reboots though.

Ok, tonight when it woke up from standby to record Modern Family the unit froze and I had to turn it off at the wall to restart it.

Thanks for the feedback.

Please try NOT to standby it, and disable "Standby after Recording", and see if it still behaves abnormally.

The difference in energy consumption between active and standby mode is negligible anyway.

Just had a mini restart while watching Prime.

Screen went black for around five seconds and the units display reverted to "Magic TV", then back to Prime.

I thought we were trying to troubleshoot the problem of the auto-restarts and mini-restarts from power on, not hide the issue by leaving it turned on!

I thought we were trying to troubleshoot the problem of the auto-restarts and mini-restarts from power on, not hide the issue by leaving it turned on!

As you can see from my post above, it happened while the unit was on as well, so it's not just a resume from standby problem.

Something new is going wrong with our MTV 3600s. Mine is now rebooting without any user stimulation (or recording start/stop as far as I can tell)

I'm running mtv3600_3_18NZb. I have disabled "standby after recording" and "timer standby". Around 8:15 this evening while about 10 minutes into playing back a recording the screen went black for 20 or 30 seconds, eventually replaced by the magic splash screen saying "Welcome". After another 20 seconds of that the screen went black again and I had to cycle the power on my Sony TV to restore live TV. I can't identify any recording that should have been starting or stopping at 8:15.

Sigh!

There is a small off and on switch on the back of the unit for that. If possible you should put the Magic TV into standby mode before flicking the switch so the hard drive is powered down before you switch off the Magic TV.

Had this while watching CRC motorsport on TV3 this afternoon. After it finished I went to watch something I'd recorded and the picture was stuttering and freezing on the recording. Had to turn power off to fix the problem

I guess it's just me then. It has happened for the last 4 evenings in a row, some time between 8:11 and 8:15. Factory reset here we come.
