What you are describing is what used to happen before updates occurred in my experience. I checked the recording around Lotto on the weekend and it no longer doubles up the recording FYI Josh.

A factory reset is still highly recommended to attempt to fix this

My box is having issues with DLNA content freezing when fast forwarding. The picture where it froze stays on the screen, no matter where or what you do. You can exit out of the media player back to live TV, you get the TV audio but you still have the frozen picture, same for the library. Also when powered off then back on (using the power button) the picture is still on the screen and the only way to get it back to normal is a hard reset (remove the power cable)

I think they have been beta testing on their customers for past 12 months!

No matter. Given that the T2200 is half the cost of the equivalent Panasonic PVR, I don't mind helping getting the product right - as long as DishTV are responsive to the issues we raise here and the software improvements keep on coming.

If you have been following this thread through the past year, you will see there are some issues, which get a response and others which are commercially sensitive and will not ever get a response in an open forum.

An offer to beta test a product, after it has been bagged for some number of posts, will not endear you to the development team.

If you really want to help the ongoing development, then have patience and always use the most appropriate method for communicating your issue.

Just last week, I had had what appeared to be an instance of one of the recently described issues. Five minutes on the phone to tech support and my issue was resolved.

I could so easily have taken to flinging it out to all and sundry and got all manner of responses; possibly a solution and potentially a disaster.

But I did talk to tech support and quickly resolved my issue.

Always best to seek the experts advice first.

I think you should send your T2200 in for a factory overhaul , its not normal given you are running V1.30

for the record i dont run live pause and it seems to take the overhead off the unit and get acceptable general use.

I noticed that "Native" is no longer an option for hdmi output resolution. This means that the output video scaler is always active and so I wasn't able to test whether shifting the scaling overhead to my receiver would improve the operation of the T2200.

Having said that, its all a bit academic, since the box should work under all circumstances.

If I was debugging the problem, I would look for memory leaks and buffer over/under runs, because recording rewind does work for a short while after a cold start. Then it all goes south!

"Bagging" a product is quite different from pointing out genuine bugs.

I know from experience that replicating a user's setup, so that a bug can be fixed, is one of the hardest aspects of debugging. So it makes sense to confirm that a bug really has been fixed with the person that reported it.

I do agree that providing as much information as possible to the developers is the way to get results. Providing them on a forum like this helps others learn from a collective experience. And if it does turn out that the "problem" is simply a case of user error or RTFM, then it will be pointed out soon enough, taking the burden of tech support hotline.

So ive turned the unit on this afternoon, with out touching anything from yesterday, and it wont play any media over my network. even files i watched just last night. It can see the server fine it just wont play anything.

I have performed a factory reset on the unit, and i have restarted the media server, the thing is all my other devices can see the media server and watch the videos.

I have zero issue with streaming TV from the unit to my computer which im doing with zero issues at the moment.

this is very very frustrating as about 50% of our use of the unit is via DLNA/UPnP

nothing had changed from the previous day.

on the latest firmware and i have tried a factory reset.

So i got it working again but it required a firmware downgrade and then it automatically upgraded (which i hate it doing) the latest one again.

A lot of time wasted sorting this out

you would think a factory reset would reset the firmware too.

from memory there is an upgrade time set on the box , mine is 3am so it wont clash with activity from other computers or recordings etc , is it possible it is the reason why i have had a slightly less troublesome run out of mine ? the issue on this one seems to point to some sort of corruption of the update ?

I set up an alert with PriceSpy when I first looked at these boxes and it triggered today. I bought one ages ago but for anyone thinking about buying a T2200, the Warehouse has them for $279 at the moment which is pretty cheap!

Glad to know I am not the only one!
