tl;dr: Where is Freeview on Demand on a Sony Android TV?

I installed a Freeview UHF aerial yesterday. Have only been living here two years, so probably a little ahead of schedule but World Cup knock out rounds have prompted some action.

I've confirmed our TV (Sony Android KDL-50W800C) is on the list of compatible TVs but cannot for the life of me find where the Freeview on Demand button/app/option is. I assume I am missing something blindingly obvious.

trig42:

Have you got HbbTV turned off in the TV settings somewhere? FreeviewPlus will not work with it turned off.

Thanks @trig42 - this was the key. From Sony UK:

You cannot use the HbbTV function for broadcast if you disagree with the BRAVIA Privacy Policy. To use this function, perform one of the procedures below.

Agree with the BRAVIA Privacy Policy

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
  2. Select Help (?) in the Settings category.
  3. Select Privacy setting in the Troubleshooting and system information category.
  4. Select Agree.

Set Interactive Application to On

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Channel setup in the TV category.
  4. Select Digital setup.
  5. Select Interactive Application Setup.
  6. Select Interactive Application, then set it to On.

"Interactive application" was already on, but I can only guess I hadn't agreed to the Privacy Policy at some stage. Doing this still didn't work the first time, but a reboot (holding remote power button for 5 seconds) seems to have triggered it. After that, all @djtOtago's suggestions worked (down then left, or the green button).
