Hi all.

The inability of my aging TiVo to handle the daylight savings change was the last straw.  Tried the Dish T2200 but found that extremely buggy and frustrating, so have now picked up the Panasonic HWT260.  No comparison to TiVo but it's not bad.

One problem I can't seem to fix is that turning off the TV (by any means) also turns off the HWT260.  This cancels any current recordings and I assume (please correct me if I am wrong) that it will not "wake up" from standby automatically to record anything programmed either. So to record teh unit must be on at all times (aka TiVo)?

I can only assume that the TV is sending a signal (or dropping a signal) through the HDMI cable, and the PVR is accepting this as a prompt to shut down.

This is going to be incredibly frustrating, for example if something is playing that we for whatever reason can't hang around to watch the end of, we simply cant just turn off the TV and have the PVR continue recording it.

Any ideas?  I have gone through the power settings on the PVR and made sure none of the auto power off settings are enabled, also tried with the Anytime TV on and off.  Also tried a different HDMI outlet on the TV without ARC and still the same.

Any suggestions?

As mentioned, this'll almost certainly be CEC. It's one of those things that sounds like a good idea but ends up having poor execution, such as my Sony TV's remote having Play, Stop, Next Track, and Previous Track buttons, but no Pause. Or when you finish watching a movie so you turn the TV off, only for the Blu-ray player to turn off too. So you need to turn it back on and wait for it to boot up so that you can eject the disc...
