Hi I am considering an Ultraplus X9200 with 2 x UHF (DVB-T) tuners.
By doing this the unit won't have DVB-S tuner so won't have access to the Satellite EPG.

If anyone has 2 x UHF tuners in their box, how are you updating the Freeview EPG?

Regards Allen.

I have the X-9200 with a terrestrial tuner and a satellite tuner installed. The terrestrial tuner will only retrieve 3-5 hours of EPG, whereas the satellite tuner will retrieve 7 days. If I want to set up a terrestrial recording several days ahead I must first use the satellite EPG to captute the programme details, and then change the recording channel from satellite to terrestrial.

Given only TV1,2 & 3 broadcast in HD I do not see any advantage for you in having two terrestrial tuners installed. And indeed if you wanted to record (or watch) TV1 and TV2 programmes in HD at the same time then the single terrestrial tuner will allow this. But it wont allow you to record/watch a TVNZ channel in HD and a Mediaworks channel (TV3) at the same time.

If more than three channels broadcast in HD I could understand your desire for two terrestrial tuners, but you will find the X-9200 more useful with one terrestrial and one satellite tuner installed. On a busy night I can be recording three channels simultaneously whilst watching an earlier recorded programme. You need a decent high-spec internal HDD for this - not some old external hard drive from a redundant PC.
