Hi there i live in Wanganui. I have a freeview HD tv and i also have a uhf aerial that works. I have already checked and yes my house can receive freeview HD but i am just wondering if i need to realign the UHF aerial? if so where do i point it?

The Wanganui transmitter is on Mt Jowett (Roberts Ave, above Aramoho) - there's a map here: http://www.freeviewnz.tv/userfiles/pdfs/Wanganui.pdf

The easiest way I found to align my antenna if you don't have direct line of sight to the transmitter was to find my house on google maps/earth, then draw a line between my antenna and the transmitter - pick a visible point that the line intersects (in my case it was a house about 300m away) and aim your antenna at that point.  The only other thing would be to check the polarity of the transmission - Mt Jowett is horizontally polarised, so the short elements on your UHF antenna should be horizontal.

Mt Jowett covers most of Wanganui city, but not all areas as in my case in Gonville.

The other option is pointing the aerial over the river as there is another transmitter there ( which was boosted late last year ). Don't know the name as I am new to wanganuiLaughing
I have not been impressed with the quality of DTT as it is very inconsistent, more so with prime. DST was always reliable by
comparison.
