Has anyone had experience doing this?
Is it necessary to partition and format a new drive before installing it?
If so what are the requirements?
Are there limitations on max drive size?

My Zinwell displays BOOT at start up and doesn't get beyond this. I'm simply guessing that it is HD failure?

It is possible but alot of Zinwells have had capacitor failures so it might be that.

No. I think you may be confused with the Zinwell set top box - been there done that.

This is the Zinwell PVR.
