Hi Guys,

I’m new to these forums and satellites in general. I am a V8 Supercar fan but am not prepared to pay Sky’s expensive fees per month. What components are required and how much approx would it cost to set up a dish to be able to watch the V8’s?

If you had anyone you could recommend to set it up in CHCH, that would be cool too.

I have noted in another thread that Optus Aurora is going to be decommissioned. Is that just one satellite or are we talking about V8 coverage altogether being unavailable to the hobbyist via dish?

Sorry for the basic questions

thanks very much and I'm sure there are many in the same boat

Mike

Hi Mike,
Check out this thread http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=48&topicid=127314. Bit of discussion already underway, including a kitlist for watching via satellite (as long as coverage remains on Optus D2)
