Have a problem with my magic tv 3600, I was playing up so i turned it off , when i turned it back on the magic tv boot screen would load for about 15 or more seconds then nothing happens.

Cannot turn off the unit via the remote and all that comes on the front screen of the magic tv unit is "magic tv " and nothing at all on the tv

Tried to install new firmware but all the shows when i tried that is "no storage detected "

Any suggestions ?

Did you turn it off and pull out the power plug??  I had a similar problem with Magic DVR last year and that fixed it for me..  Left it unplugged for about 30 minutes..

Might need to follow steps 1-5 stated in the owner's guide Rescue Procedure (p.69 of Owners Guide ver 1). I believe you need to use an official Magic tv firmware version rather than one of the 2lostkiwis patched versions, but that can be installed once you get the unit back up and running.

Also try using a different flash drive - for some reason, the rescue procedure didn't like the flash drive I have always used to upgrade firmware, but an older/smaller one worked fine.
