Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
MikeB4: Another channel I won't be watching, Freeview continues it's slide into sewer TV. Freeview is not even worth wasting a few dollars to buy a decoder or the cable to connect it to an aerial.
It's fine us all trashing clickbait TV but you've only got to look at the TV ratings to realise it's exactly what a lot of people clearly want to watch.

i might care if I still watched broadcast TV (or eerr any "tv'). if they want to make real interesting news, launch something like hulu. hulu + netflix == basically all I need.
Never watched much FOUR anyway. But Mediaworks is just going from bad to worse. I guess the general population wants to watch rubbish.

Thats it. Reality TV must be popular. I hear people at work yakking about The Bachelor in a negative way. Then I hear them discussing it the next morning!
Plenty of choice on Freeview, and obviously elsewhere as well. On SVOD we choose to watch what we want to, its exactly the same on linear TV actually.

Ah great, how am I going to watch The Goldbergs now?...TV4 would keep up with the states so I didn't need to use "other" means
Browsing today's listings on Four, I don't think that turning it into a reality TV channel will be any less brain dead than the dreck they're already serving up.
There are a couple of good channels on Freeview, IMO. Choice, Al Jezzera, National Radio.

I'm hoping some of the good comedies will migrate to TV3.

It's going to be one heck of a restructure also the branding of TV3 is now becoming old, time for a new logo, new look and new content. Move all the reality to Bravo.
Wonder why they just didn't launch a whole new channel for this and keep Four?
TVNZ found room for Duke....

Some of the reality tv formats I dont mind, border patrol always has some interesting crims hiding methods, the rescues and jobs on Piha and the Ambulance type shows can get faimilar, but theres always something as equally silly on Motorway patrol each episode to make you forget the rest. The aussie first dates and blind weddings are like a carcrash you can't look away from at the expense of others, but theres no need to make a NZ spinoff (they are about to!) to continue the trend. The repeating format of Mitre10 Dream home, MKR (no matter WHAT countries version) and so on.. so tiresome once its been through the ringer for 4 seasons.

Yep - 'The Goldbergs' and 'Fresh off the Boat' - pretty much the only things I watch on FOUR.
But if they spin that 'Reality rubbish' off onto their 'New' channel - maybe these programs will go to 3.
Could make 3 a better channel if they separate the content.
While I really dislike all those X factor/The Voice/The batchelor/Housewives stuff - there seem to be a lot of people that cant get enough - so it could work for them.
Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself - A. H. Weiler
I don't mind some of the better quality English reality TV, like 'Restoration Man', or 'Trust Me, I'm A Doctor', where you actually learn interesting stuff about history or architecture or the latest in health science. But I have no interest in fluff like the Real GC Housewives of Jersey Shore Teen Mom Hair Salon Wars or whatever these shows are called. I accidentally saw 5 minutes of the Kardashians at someone else's house once, and they were all moaning about how their luxury holiday in Greece was going to be ruined because someone wasn't speaking to someone else, and I got so angry I had to go have a stiff drink.
