Just switched from Sky to Freeview today (no inbuilt freeview in my old LCD and Plasma Tellys and not ready to upgrade those yet).

One thing I am struggling with is recording my shows from EPG.

In the guide it says to press the RED button, but once I do, it opens up the OnDmeand menu instead of recording?

What am I doing wrong, I'm following the instructions to the letter.

Look forward to some help - thanks in advance.

I don't have this model but I imagine you are attempting to record a program which has already been shown or (currently showing?). Try a program that is in the future.

Cheers

My parents have this unit.

I found it best for them (and for those coming from MySky) to turn off HbbTV in the settings, which takes you back to the old guide (where pressing the Red button does what you want).

What you have going on there is FreeviewPlus (HbbTV) getting in the way (where pressing the Red Button brings up FreeviewPlus options - in this case the OD apps).

FreeviewPlus guide is good for non-DVRs though (much faster than the other Freeview guide).

Hi

Press the Red button that's separate from the four color buttons (interactive buttons) it's down the bottom section of the remote.

it should never be referred to as the red button especially when there are the 4 color buttons under the numbers

And the manual says to push the 'Red' button, not the 'Record' button.

Recording via the Freeview EPG
1. Press the EPG (Guide) button.
2. Browse for a programme you wish to
schedule for recording, and then press
the RED button.

The Record Button is white with a red dot.

i know it does say that but if you need to press the record button it should say that, not press the red button.

on my T2200 pressing the red button works on the old freeview guide, and on the new freeview plus guide its either the record button or the ok button depending on what view you are in

Hi there, it was in the future, was trying to record The Block and all my shows for the week ie Greys Anatomy, Lucifer and did the plus 24 hour button to move through the days.

Hi there

When I pressed the red record button (the black button with the red dot) it started recording live tv.

When I press guide and the guide comes up and I scroll to a show - the show has a  record, reminder and a heart - when record is selcted/hightlight -  when I press OK, RED button or REC button (the black button with the red dot) nothing happens.  But I can do a reminder or favourite (the heart).

In order to record, I have to go into menu and pick the epg - that is depicted in this video [url=http://www.freeviewnz.tv/faq-library/setup-installation/how-to-use-your-freeview-epg/]

But if box turns off or I come back later and press guide it seems to default to the epg that looks similar to this (sorry linking images found in google - which are from other models)

Just seems to be a bit more of a process than I am used to ie with MySky

I have managed to watch TVNZ on demand ok, discovered that by pressing the RED button (found under mute) with the other coloured buttons) - so that was good, I managed to catch up with Lucifer :p

I have an s7090 PVR. To record from the epg I do in fact have to press the red button (not the record button) on the remote.
