Hi,

I just got offer from someone for Australian imported HD TV.

It's LG and got built in HD decorder.

I wonder whether this built in HD decorder could used to view HD contents in NZ as well.

Cheers

Shin

Unless it supports MPEG4/H.264/HE-AAC which I am %99.999 sure it doesn't then I suspect you will need a Freeview HD decoder to watch the DTT broadcasts.

As has been posted many times before, it's easier / cheaper to buy a TV in the market you plan to use it it.  That way you know it will work.  Otherwise buy a monitor and STB.

Australia use MPEG2 for DTT at the mo'. NZ is using MPEG4, so short answer is Nope,  ( Also the actual channels used may be different, let alone the encoding)
