Hi,

I'm trying to copy some Shorty episodes from Panasonic DMR-XW440 to PC and then onto a flash drive for my wife who's in hospital.

Long time since I needed to do this and it *used* to work. I could browse in Explorer to the DVD-R and drag the files to the desktop. It was a hassle to get working
initially and I had to turn off DLNA Conversion in Panasonic Network settings.

That's still turned off, and although I can browse to Quick Access - DMR-XW440 and see the files, any attempt to copy brings up

An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue
to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this
problem.
Error 0x800000OA: The data necessary to complete this operation is not yet
available.

After much googling some useful info was found at

https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=34&topicid=146923

So I installed Media Monkey but all attempts so far have failed. I see the XW440 under Media Servers and the Filenames under Title/ I r-click and select Download.
It asks where to put them, appears to do something then advises there was a problem downloading.

Shorty - http://192.168.20.3:60001/AV-0-268435456-2-0-268437703-PARENT-1-36-97286400_BDY - HTTP/1.1 503 Service
Unavailable

Is there any hope... any help appreciated. Thanks.

I have same problem. A large Windows 10 update earlier this year killed the copy process. Can see the recorder files OK but copy no longer works and I get the same error as you. Checked Windows Forum and tried all the supposed fixes but nothing worked.

I then tried Serviio Media Servo which was supposed to be pretty good but that didn't work either so went back to my old Twonky Server software that I used to use with Windows 7 a few years back before Win 8  came along.

Wasn't sure how it would go in Windows 10 but it installed OK and is working just like it used to so I can now copy files to the PC again.

P.S. My second PC is still running Win 7 and Twonky Server so that still works too for file transfers.

Thanks to ADKM

We have now found out that it is possible to copy from the Pansonic to the Root Directory on C:/ Drive and only to the Root directory. No matter what I try I can't copy to any other drive or folder, not even the Public Videos folder.

It was the Creator's Update that fried the ability to copy.

I had the same issue, and the same error, with a BWT840 Blu-Ray recorder.

After a bit of googling I discovered what the issue was and how to roll the update back, which I did. Copying files now works fine again.

Yeah, I found that out too but was unable to do a rollback. Didn't have my backup and/or rollback settings enabled.
