Am I correct in reckoning that only one or these is actually usable? Meaning that a pen drive in each to increase storage capacity doesn't work..?

There are 2 of them so when one fails from doing the continual bug fixes, you still have the other one until it fails too.

 

By this time they will have the "5 years after pending release" later model actually, maybe, possibly released.
