Does anyone have any update on the proposed introduction of DVB-S2, and with it HD, to the Freeview Satellite service? The only articles I can find on it are 1-2 years old and suggest it may occur "sometime in 2018".

The plan was reliant on SKY finishing their shift to Mpg4 and transitioning to DVB-S2. Sky were also negotiating for LESS future capacity on D1 once that was done. Then I would expect Freeview would need some temporary extra capacity to simulcast with DVB-S2 while informing the public of a 6 to 12 month END of service for the current DVB-S service.
