Hi, I have just installed the Nova T 500 into my system following cranznz's great guide, and am having two troubles that I can't figure out.
Firstly, I am recieving all Freeview channels minus Channel3 and C4. Secondly, I can get audio on all channels in Mediaportal but no visual. If i pause, a still image of what is on shows. The preview in TV server shows both visual and audio perfectly.
I have tried Powerdvd8's codec and coreavc, both with the same result.
My system specs are;
Q6600 P5E aTi 3870x2 Nova T 500Vista 64

Thanks in advance.

Update to latest ATI drivers first of all.
Then tick expert mode in MP config, and then go directshow filters > enable hardware acceleration.
As for tv3 + c4 choose to scan the whole of the NZ frequency not just your area. For Te Aroha in waikato the TV3 frequencies were wrong i believe.

I'm running the latest drivers and allready had all of that enabled in MP. Also tried scanning NZ and still no TV 3 :(

Any other ideas?

Where are you located?
the website www.lincrad.co.nz has the transmitter freqs for the whole of NZ.

I'm in Newton, Auckland city and have Direct Line of site to the skytower (where TV3 signal is I believe). My feed is from a splitter in my apartment.

Comparing the lincrad site with the freq list I have for MP RC2 it would appear the freqs are different.  It is a similar problem to the one in this thread
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=84&topicid=26271
If you edit the dvbt file referred to in that thread and add
527000
559000
623000
to the auckland infill listings and scan again (after a reboot) you may find some more channels.
Worked for me in the early days of dvb-t testing.

Sorry, what is the auckland infill file named? Can't see it in there. The TV3 thing doesn't bother me at this stage. I really want to just get image in mediaportal to start with. Could this be an issue with my GPU? It has hdtv support in the control center so I presume it should be fine for freeview.
