I would like to know if someone can confirm that this DVB-S PCI card:

wIth this chipset: SDMC DM1105

works under Linux (Ubuntu 8.10) and Mythtv.

I would prefer not to be the first one to try it!

According to linuxTV, it is listed as supported:

but would prefer clear evidence first.

It would be good if you could get the brand/model of the card, but it isn't one i've ever played with.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

The auction owner said it is an OEM product, so no brand name.

It is however probably the same as theDvbWorld 2002 DVB-S from searching the web:

Sadly probably doen't cut it.

Even when looking at major brands like Hauppauge each card revision can require a major driver change.

Basically if you are worried then buy something you know will work.
