Over the easter break I got the chance to visit the inside of the Kordia building on Mt Cargill in Dunedin, we were performing some maintenance on the Amateur Radio repeater systems on the site. The access was extremely limited, in that we could only see the tea room, bathroom, and the basement where our equipment is (which is also where all of the feed lines head out towards the tower). But, conveniently, a Kordia employee was visiting on his holiday to show some family around the building - so we got to have a look too. This included the new DVB-T Transmitters for Dunedin, 3 transmitters with capability of 3 HD signals each. I can't remember much more of the specifics, as we were in a rush anyway, but the transmitters themselves are fairly small - approximately 1x1x2 metres in size.

We also got a chance to look at the pretty hefty old VHF transmitters, which will create a huge amount of space once they're removed!

This post is slightly off topic, as I can't post pictures of the equipment itself for obvious reasons, but the next best thing - the Loo with the best view in Dunedin:

That image alone makes it worth posting :)

Sadly the similar Loo view from Kordia's Mt Victoria Tramsitter room in Wellington site has frosted glass, overwise it would be a grand view across the city!
