Lack of Prime is a major reason for me not bothering to put a dish on the roof. (UHF is too sketchy to go DVB-T at my place).

I guess they're going to have to put it there, eventually, since analogue customers are reducing (and proportion of households with Freeview is increasing by about 1% of total a month).

I think it really unlikely that Sky will add rpime to the freeview satellite service in the next few years as there would be thousands of people outside of Prime coverage areas that only have basic sky service in order to receive Prime.

For me - based on what is on Prime that is worth watching. I think I might only mis one programme a week if I moved to freeview. Smile

Where did you see that?

Given they are quoted as stating they will be putting significant hours of the Olympics onto Prime, it will be extremely interesting to see which way they go. One thing's for certain, they will make it very difficult to anyone not involving Sky.

If its going to stay a FTA channel they will have to do something before analog gets switched off, do they have a reason to encrypt it on DVB-S? can it be picked up outside nz or something?
