Hi there,

The house we have moved into is wired for TelstraClear, there is no aerial or satelite, only the Telstra cable.

We have an LCD TV which has a built-in Freeview HD decoder (eliminating the need for a set top box). Our plan was to just plug in and use Freeview, but now it looks like we have to either subscirbe to Telstra or hook up the rabbit ears!

Does anyone know if we can plug the TV into the Telstra line and pick up standard TV? Even better, can we access Freeview HD throught the Telstra line?

Have tried breifly but the signal just seems scrambled.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Depending on where you live, rabbit ears may not be enough for freeviewHD reception. TCL do not broadcast freeviewHD.
I am not sure if you can still get the FTA channels on a cable connection if your house is not currently connected to the TCL network.

TCL does not transmit Freeview|HD signals that you can pick up over their cable. They do transmit the FTA analogue channels put plugging a TV directly into the TCL cable is against TCL Terms & Conditions and will also only deliver you a poor quality 4:3 analogue signal.

The only way to get Freeview|HD is with a UHF aerial.

Hi, Ross and Steve have given you the good oil, TCL dont really give you many flash modern options, they are quite slow and well behind the 8ball, get yourself a UHF antenna and you will get DTT.
