Hi all,

Have just installed Windows 7 on parents computer.  They live in Sat only area of freeview (Whanganui) and I was just wondering anyone knows how Media Centre works in NZ with freeview Sat?

Like is it easy to setup, does it have full EPG from sat etc?

I understood that it works well with the terrestrial service but no EPG, so just wondering how it gets on with the sat service and how well it's working for others here?

Cheers in advance!

no issues at all, however you probably want to have a minimum of two DVB-S tuners so you can watch one channel and record another. EPG works fine, you can also pickup a few Aust channel SBS One and Two as a bonus.

The windows 7 media centre interface is also much better than the Vista version. Good luck, and if you get stuck I'm sure the geekzone crew will help out.

Sorry forgot to add that I had a minor problem when trying to scan for the channels however this post here details what to do if you encounter the same issue http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=83&TopicId=30754

windows 7 works really well with the satellite service. It will pick up the full 7 day epg without any configuration necessary.
