We've had our Homecast HT9200DTR for about a month now.

By and large it's an excellent product but we have had one issue crop up.

In the last week we noticed a problem with playback of TV3. This only occured when we were recording 2 channels while watching a recorded TV3 program. The box would drop the odd frame causing a slight stutter in playback. Really strange. It only occurs on TV3 program which I guess is caused by the superior picture / sound signal which they send being harder for the reciever to decode.

I took it back to JB Hifi this morning and they have replaced it. No trying to blame me for the boxes problems, no dramas, just replaced it. Really good service. I'll be interested to see tonight how the replacement box goes.

And it's made no difference. Managed to get it back to them this afternoon and they told me that after talking to Homecast it's a known fault.

I got my money back - once again with no dramas - and went and bought a Magic TV from Harvey Norman. I would have bought it from JB but they don't sell them. Dissapointing from Homecast. On the flip side the Magic TV is pretty cool. It seems to be much snappier than the Homecast and has a few more features.

I've been given a JC Matthew DVR-320T DTR to review and I tried to replicate the issue you were having last night. I had no problems at all playing back a TV3 recording whilst recording 2 other channels. It must just be a Homecast issue.

Hi Handle9

Which JB Hi-Fi store did you purchase your HT9200DTR from? As this is in no way a known fault it has never popped up before so it sounds like they have fed you nonsense.

I have not had any phonecalls from JB Hi-Fi in regards to this and all technical calls get forwarded to me, so this is dissapointing from JB Hi-Fi.

The store was New Lynn.

I was all set to flame you about product quality but I think I'll leave it there...
