A new version of VideoReDo TVSuite that can handle H264 is out. You can read the details for yourself but I highly recommend at least checking it out. In short it does frame-accurate editing and minimal re-encoding if you only want to trim; the interface is great. Info and free 15 day trial link here.

i took part in the testing of this. It works very well with all Freeview recordings. It's still not bulletproof, but it's far better than anything else out there.
