Any recommendations for a FreeView SD Satellite Receiver please?

My current thinking is on the Topfield TF6000FE, as it's relatively cheap, seems to be a respected manufacturer, and it has RGB via Scart (my TV is from UK).

While I would like PVR capability (or upgradability at least), price is an issue right now, so am sacrificing that.  It has to be satellite, as we have no UHF aerial, and we have inherited an installed SKY satellite dish from previous tenant.

Opinions on the Topfield model, or suggestions for others would be great.

Also, suggestions with regards to models that can be - *ahem* - modified to recieve channels other than the freeview ones gratefully received...

Thanks!

Hi, I have sold and installed literally hundreds of TF6000FE, not had one issue with one of them, I still consider them to be the pick of standard decoders.

Cheers
Cyril

I recently got a ultraplus f9000hd and have been very happy with it.

I know you were after a SD Sat Receiver but after a bad experience with another PVR (not the topfield, I've only heard good things about them) I have been very happy with the UP.
