I've just bought and installed an HVR2200 but the WinTV 7 Application won't install. Gets about 5 secs in and turns to custard. Get a message "install complete" but no it isn't.
OS is Win XP Pro SP3.
My Ulead Video Studio 10 sees the card OK and Tunes Analog and Finds Freeview Channels OK (although I need to connect a decent aerial yet) so the card is OK.
Tried downloading the latest software from Hauppage but similar problem. Part-way into the install looks for the original CD in the drive but says it can't find it even though I can find files and folders on the CD OK.
Having done some research, would I be right in assuming I need to be using Win XP Media Centre Edition?
If not what am I doing wrong?
Maybe I need to upgrade to Win 7 ?

Problem solved.
The disc that comes with the HVR2200 is for Media Centre PCs only (XP MCE2005, VISTA, WIN7) and wouldn't install on WIN XP even though the label says XP.
Received latest software disc from Hauppage Singapore today whose support dept has been extremely helpful. Installed WINTV v7.2 OK with XP drivers and everything is working. Only problem seems to be just one of the Digital Tuners is available with both Media Portal and WINTV v7.2.
Will see what happens when I upgrade to WIN 7 shortly.
Incidentally Media Portal recognised and tuned the card OK but gave no video (only audio) even though I installed 3rd party H.264 codec. I now have video in Media Portal after installing WINTV v7.2 with inbuilt H.264 codec.
