I got a freeview receiver on trade me which works great, but when i did a blind scan, it showed 3 TV1's

Are there different channel 1's for different regions?

Hmmm. You could help us a bit more if you gave more details. Manufacturer, model number, etc.

People can't help you in any way if you don't provide any information. A "Freeview receiver from Trade Me" could be anythin, from the real deal to some Chinese fake.

I assume you're talking about a satellite unit?

Cos I'm feeling generous today, (I believe these are still current?):

TV ONE Auckland + All FTA VPID 515 APID 653 PCR 515
TV ONE Waikato VPID 519 APID 657 PCR 519
TV ONE Wellington + Central VPID 513 APID 651 PCR 513
TV ONE Christchurch + Dunedin VPID 517 APID 655 PCR 517

You need to find a section in your satellite receiver that lets you see the info about each channel you are viewing. Pick your location from the list and delete the rest.

As mentioned above, the TV1 content is the same but the/some ads are area specific.

Whilst you are at it, add in the SBS channels by scanning:
Freq: 12646MHz
Pol: Vertical
SR: 12600

Please note that the SBS stuff is on Vertical polarity, so if you sharing the dish with anything else (freeview or SKY receivers) then the others will probably hold the lnb in Horizontal mode and you won't get anything off vertical channels.

I suspect that you have also scanned all the Sky channels as by default you only see one. This happened to me when I did a blind scan. The new TV1s were up in the Sky channel numbers..

I cant use SBS as i have multiple receivers and there are known problems with using sbs on one decoder and free to air on another..   Thanks heaps for the info about the channels.. :)

Nope, they are on the TVNZ Mux.

Generic (trade me) receivers will pick up all channels - not just your region)
Actual Freeview receivers have a setting for your region before scanning
