Hi All

Wanting to add to my current setup. Currently have a single LNB on a sky dish running thru a splitter to feed the dual inputs on my HTPC.

What i want to do is change the single LNB for a dual simultaneous h & v so i can record/watch SBS & freeview at the same time. these have dual feeds.
And i want to add a second LNB so i can pick up Optus D2 (for V8 World)

I have also had a flatmate move in that would like to access this all aswell, without having to link thru my PC (gives more fleixibilty with another tuner in the system)

Here is how I think it would need to be laid out, but wanting suggestions/critisisms/help as to whether it works like this

(sorry, i can't figure out how to embed pics, all i ever get is a red x)

Ummm, you dont want a diseqc switch you need a multi switch if you want to access any of the three LNBs from any tuner at free will.

Yeah you could do what you were after with a diseqc switch if you only had one tuner.

However, you'd probably need the multiswitch anyway to achieve it with just the multiple tuner cards in your htpc. Anyway, it's the multiple tuners, be them separate tuner cards or a few htpcs or set top boxes etc that mean you have to go the multiswitch route to do it properly I expect.

You'll probably need a second separate (larger) dish for V8's. I had problems with rain fade with a triple lnb setup (D1, C1, D2) on a 85 cm dish.

Thanks for the help! That makes things a lot simpler than what I had imagined. A bit more expensive tho!
And I assume I could split the d2 single feed into 2 so any tuner could access either H or V on d2, but not both simulatneously (not required, only want d2 for the v8s!)

Love this site.
Cheers

You dont need the 2nd LNB feed from the D2 dish, just the one you want, but you will need that for D1 if you want SBS and freeview etc.

This should be the same thing but cheaper by the looks of it
