i have thought about this if but if the aerial has moved or the cable damaged wouldnt that upset the frequency on the all the channels and stop them from working.

just hope its not the aerial or cable the place i live in the roof is not the most accessible

thanks

Hi, An aerial or cable problem can easily affect one of the three muxs that carry the channels. They are on quite different frequencies and one can be bad while the others seem perfect.

Edit: Which area are you in? Which transmitter do you receive? Have you tried a rescan, it might be worth a try too?

don't mess with me.... i'm the hd insider....

i am in ellerslie in auckland near the Ellerlsie Panmure Highway and done a rescan which didnt help

so its sounding more an more likely that it is a problem with my aerial or cable.

Go into the Manual Channel scan on the Sony TV menu and check your signal strength for each multiplex(channels 29, 33 and 45). Could be very enlightening. When setting up a Sony TV at my son's place in Glenfield last week  I was getting two multiplexes at about 60 on the sterength and 40 on quality but the Prime multiplex was barely registering a strength reading (about 6). Was using an old antenna with old coax. New antenna and coax got all of them up to 96 strength and 100 quality. I suspect you are getting marginal strength and quality on the two multiplexes you are receiving.

Hey I am having exactly the same issues as you. It was working before I left for holiday last week & now all of a sudden I get no signal & can't access those two channels. While I am only using an indoor aerial and did have a few minor issues getting reception sometime, this appears to be another issue.

Any ideas what is going on?
