Hello,

Its time to replace my old Freeview satellite receiver, I am hoping someone can recommend one that's a PVR and capable of connecting to a simple home network.

Thank you

Every Freeview certified box has an ethernet port.

You haven't said exactly what capabilties you want from the Ethernet port however, and right now most boxes don't offer any capabilities over the port.

I'd recommend the Panasonic Blu Ray recorder. I have the BW880 and I'm rapt with it. The latest model is now 3D capable. More expensive than PVR capable STB but much less hassle.

OP wants a networked satellite receiver/PVR.  How would a Bluray recorder help?

I'd recommend a Vu+ Duo, if you can find one.

Oops! Missed the word satellite in the post. Too early in the morning.
Yeah. Wouldn't be much use.

Something that was part recorder/media server would be awesome.

Have a look at the Ultraplus X 9200HD PVR with HDD.

Does media, plus Satellite and Terrestrial HD Tuners can be installed in any configuration, ie 2 x Sat.,1 x Sat, 1 x Uhf., or 2 x Uhf.

It is about time you stopped harking on about a box which is effectively dead in the market place; I told you that months ago but you wouldn't listen.

You are leading people to a box that some may have trouble with and there is little back up or no warranty for them if this should be the case.

I'll post as I see fit and I'm not answerable to you.

Yes, the importer that was bringing them in no longer does - so I am lead to believe. I do not know if someone else will pick this up; but from talking with people in the industry there were a number of problems and they had quite a few returns? I do not believe this was a problem with the box that has many fine features; but the software which is more for experts only if you wish to make changes.
