Hi

Today our Magic Myfreeview box has picture, but no sound.  This is the same, whether on live TV or playing  pre-recorded programmes.

My husband has tried re-booting it and switching the audio cable, to no avail.

It's about 2 years old.

We're not super-techy, but any ideas?

Thanks

Please try:

1. Factory reset.

2. Please try a different port. If you're using HDMI, please try component output + analog audio output, and vice-versa.

Hi,

We've been running off the Component Video and Analogue Stereo since we bought the machine.  I'll get an HDMI cable tomorrow and give that a try.

Will a Factory Reset erase all of the programs we have recorded?

Thanks

Watch out for the HDMI cable prices as they are very overpriced from some places.

It is possible the analogue stereo out has failed but it is also possible the television's analogue audio in has failed.
Try testing the Magic TV's RCA audio on another TV if you have one.

A factory reset usually would mean deleting a device's programming.

Very pleased to report that trying an HDMI cable fixed the problem.

Many thanks - we are very grateful for the advice  Smile
