All other channels are fine, prime cricket unwatchable right now. Others have the same problem?

Terrestrial, DVB-T

And here I was happy that I might actually get to see some cricket FTA...

No consolation to you, but DVB-S seems to be fine.

NZ 253/9 after 50 overs.

Are other channels on the kordia mux ok? Like Maori tv? If they're also bad, maybe it's your aerial.

Maori is fine. All the others I checked were fine.

Prime Cricket has freezes, pixellation, green screen...

Aerial seems to be pointing in the right direction (occasionally a storm will knock it out of alignment).

it's happening on terrestrial in a number of towns, guess freeview is having problems again. let's hope you get it fixed sooner than the two weeks it took them to admit there was a problem in timaru.

Looks like something has changed in the broadcast stream. I run a media PC to pull in freeview and prime is fine with hardware accelerated video off. With it on it's almost unwatchable. My guess would be that whether you're affected or not depends on the decoding chip on the TV.

An episode of QI recorded on Wednesday is fine. The stream has changed between then and now.  The same stream will likely be broadcast from all transmitters so that is why it's affecting all the regions.

i had unwatchable prime in dunedin (only prime everything else fine) due to high bit errors 8/10 (whatever that means on a samsung tv settings) for most of the week

but come the cricket it was fine PHEW ... maybe they fixed the problem but it migrated north?

Same here. DVB-T and AMD HD3200 onboard. Prime Sport - Rugby on Friday night and Cricket yesterday was jerky as heck. Fine with ffdShow but the 'puter can't do TV3 w/o H/w acceleration. Everytthing else seems ok, even older recorded Prime stuff.

If anyone knows of a cure please let me know. Any NVidia recommendations perhaps?

Well, well.

ATI 4670 & 6950 here on two media PCs.

I wonder what they have done to the transmission?

ATI simply is an inferior solution to NVidia for H.264. Despite what many ATI fans may say on here it still doesn't handle H.264 hardware decoding properly. If you want to eliminate all the issues buy a NVidia card, something people in many countries around the world who have H.264 broadcasts have all discovered.

I've tried ATI gear many times over the years, and have yet to find a single ATI chipset or driver release that works as well as NVidia. I actually rebuilt my PVR two weeks ago with a new AMD E350 board with the goal of testing things again for myself, and putting an NVidia 8500 back in if needed. Right now I'm almost on the verge of doing that..

FWIW I also had dodgy Prime Sports for the cricket yesterday, ghosting, green washed out, stuttering, missing sound

Freeview DVB-T in central Auckland

I thought it might've been my aerial blowing in the wind, or new $199 Tivo playing up, but sounds like the problem was more widespread
