I'm currently helping my friend migrate away from 24/7hosting. Anyone had any luck with cpanel? It accepts the login but nothing is shown on the web interface.

Guys, just letting you know via this official channel that Kermit the Frog now owns 24/7 hosting. Please send him all your credit card details so he can renew your domain ASAP....

I don't know about Kermit - but he certainly is a muppet...

You need to contact the registrar of your domain. 24/7 aren't actually a registrar so all the domains they are managing are registered somewhere else. I did a search for my domains on http://whois.domaintools.com/ and found they were registered at voyager / 1stdomains. I opened a support ticket with 1stdomains who were helpful, and emailed my UDAI keys to the "registrant" email address they have with the domain record.

Good idea, mine were .com and .net addresses which were registered with InternetBS which seemed to be a fitting name. I've emailed them but don't hold out a lot of hope. Will post any updates I get.

Actually InternetBS were really good at responding and transferring control of my .com domain to me. I definitely wouldn't tar them with the same brush as 24/7...

To carry on the saga, from what I can see, it looks like 24/7 are removing comments from various Facebook posts. (I've been keeping an eye on it as its quite intriguing watching the trainwreck that is 24/7 Hosting). None of the comments were very complimentary but none offensive - who trusts a company that removes anything negative from a public forum like Facebook...

This morning I gained access to cPanel - for some reason it worked fine on Chrome my Galaxy Note tablet. On my pc I still got the blank screen after login. No idea what's the deal there but for anyone looking for access to cPanel I'd suggest trying to login using Chrome on Android.

If you don't have an Android device you can look into a processes called user agent switching, where you send the server a string telling it you're using Chrome on Android (or whatever). Most browsers have a feature to do this in their developer tools, or you can look into a browser extension to do it for you. cPanel can be accessed at https://flake.cpanelhosting.co.nz:2083/

Hope that helps anyone to at least get some backups of their websites or settings.

Internet.bs have been helpful getting me access to my domain names which I also had registered through 24/7 (247 bought their domains through either internet.bs or voyager). I emailed them a few days ago and they wrote back saying 24/7 had two days to sort it, and CC'd 247 into that email. After two days I told Internet.bs that I still hadn't heard from 247 and they have just sent me instructions on how to transfer the domains directly to them where I'll be able to get EPP codes etc so that's all looking pretty promising.

Cpanel on Flake has always worked fine for me, never gone down. That's in Firefox on PC. The support area has been down for quite some time though.

I'm looking at probably moving my sites away soon as well, sick of no notifications or progress. Even the possible new owners seem to lack professionalism when they're telling their own customers that Voyager are "stealing their customers". C'mon guys, admit you're in the wrong here and fix it. Voyager are doing what they should be doing, what's best for the customer.

I've made a bit of a list of potential reseller hosts with servers in nz.

http://www.completehost.co.nz/index.php/cart/reseller-/&step=0
http://www.hostinz.net.nz/cpanel-reseller-web-hosting/
http://www.flexihost.co.nz/reseller-hosting.php
http://www.hooplahosting.com/reseller-webhosting

Looks like Webdrive brought flexihost though, and webdrive's prices are very high (possibly highest in NZ for a reseller at $4 per site and webslice is the same price).

Maybe completehost, though I fear they could also just be a one-man-band like 24/7 started out. hostinz and hoopla could be the same.

There's plenty others, but usually more limited plans.

Anyone have any thoughts on those hosts above?

Surely the lesson here is... you get what you pay for. Web Drive is NZ's largest host with 50 staff.
You don't get profitable and able to grow and expand by charging peanuts. Is a wholesale cost of $4 really that high?

My suggestion is don't ever buy hosting in price alone. The quality of hosting , reliability and support can vary a lot between providers.   You should  test the hosts support by asking them some questions first, to see how quick and knowledgeable they are and how good they are at communicating. Also see how long they have been in business for.

Just to add to the list of possible reseller hosting accounts - Voyager owns http://www.net24.co.nz/ and we have several reseller account options - host 100 sites on a $59.95/mth VPS with your own plesk panel etc.
Just FYI

Don't you need more server knowledge for that, than if you were just buying a reseller package? eg. Is it fully managed to the same degree as reseller hosting?

For those having problems loading their cPanel interface, no promises, but I can try a cPanel migration. This will (provided it can get access) recover the account to my business hosting, where you can then move on or stay, it is up to you.

I wouldn't charge for this, give me a PM if you need the help.
