So I transferred my domain to Metaname.co.nz to renew and begin managing my DNS.

At the moment something seems very wrong and I'm not very impressed with Metaname.

At first, I just did the registrar transfer and continued using the nameservers for my old host & registrar to minimize any disruptions to our website.

We are developing a new website on a new hosting company.

Last night we decided to start the changeover to the new website.  So I went into Metaname, removed the old nameservers and told Metaname to use their nameservers so I could manage the DNS via Metaname.

I then added all of my zone records include the A name that point to the IP address of the new website at the new hosting company.

At this point the DNS has propagated and when I do a query my domain shows the IP of the new server.

However, I don't land at my new server/host.  I land at some weird parking page.

So now I don't see my old host, I don't see my new host, and I see a generic parking page for my domain.

My new webhost (hostgator) does not use parking pages that look anything like this.

I'm left thinking that there is something wrong with the DNS management or Metaname because I can't figure out where else this parking page could be coming from.

I've called Metaname's number to get support and all I get is a generic voicemail box that doesn't have message on it even saying if the voicemail box belongs to Metaname.

Does anyone else here use Metaname? Do you know if Metaname uses parking pages with generic ads and such?

My site is www.waihekewine.co.nz

Looks like the mystery landing page was because of your mismatched IP at hostgator.

The old IP (184.172.185.30) was most likely linked to another hostgator customers page, not yours.
Your now pointing to 216.172.173.31
