So at the moment, I am piggybacking off my friends Linode that he has - but I idealy want to move to something of my own, so I can also manage other hosts.

My domain is through GoDaddy, but their interface leaves a lot to be desired. Are there any other free, decent solutions? I'm not looking at paying for one, as I don't value it that much, but if there was an alternative, I'd like to try it.

Any ideas?

Just basic stuff? Use Cloudflare for DNS then.
