Hi all, I have been on google with this one for most of the afternoon..

I have a client that is running Outlook 2010 on windows 7.

I got asked to reset the password on there email system (we do not host it) with www.powweb.com
so i did that, but it would not reset... ok so moving on i deleted the account and remade it.

Customer now happy, they enter new password and now have no email..... I found out thats its a IMAP!

Now can i get the email back in outlook some how?

I'm guessing not, but would like to..... I would also like to know this re my own email that's on IMAP.
By the way have contacted powweb.com no luck, my only option is if i can do some thing in outlook...

I hope some one can help!

P.S. dont help mate out with 3rd party hosting.....

Have you looked into finding the previous .pst file? There is an option within Outlook to find and load pst files, can't tell you off the top of my head, just google the keywords pst, ost and outlook. Alternatively ou could try an OS system restore to roll back to the old data file.

Unfortunately if you deleted the mailbox, this would have removed all the mail stored on the server (IMAP).

As above check the PST file, in a location like below, and import this.
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\

Outlook only caches some messages with IMAP but you may be able to recover some of them. There are some online providers who will extract emails from PST/OST files or you can get the software and try yourself.

Your best bet is to get a copy of the mailbox folder reinstated by the host from their backup. Even if you have to pay them for this its the best way and in most cases shouldn't be too tricky.

Some hosts do keep lots of backups, so they can restore the whole account back to how it was a day, a week or a month ago, but it sounds like yours may only do daily? Next time you may want to find a host that does lots of backups. I am a little wary of IMAP myself for this reason for my primary account. I prefer to download it all.
