Friend of mine runs a fairly small hostel. They currently run a system where you buy a code for 50/100MB what ever. More and more their competition has free wifi for guest, so they would like to get into this.

They are looking for a system which is fairly open but at the same time will not allow torrenting or other large data downloads, also they want the ability for a client to be kicked off the network automatically after half an hour.

I would like to keep this as simple as possible, the owner is not overly tech savvy and I don't want to be on site every 5 minuets fixing it, the budget is really not there for an enterprise grade solution.

I was thinking of using something along the lines of a Ubquiti Power AP but maybe I should be looking at a box that can run the likes of Tomato and do something fancy with that.



Any ideas would be appreciated.
