Looking for something that could go in a 19" rack short depth (550mm) server that I can use as a domain controller.

Would be useful if it had 2-3 ethernet on the front so I can use it for virtualisation.

Look at a Supermicro 512f-350b. Fits 2x 3.5" hard drives, a microatx motherboard and hardware raid card. Couple with the new socket 1150 motherboards and you get 32GB, quad core and 2x Intel Nic for virtualization (and couple with a RAID card like a 9271-4i it will be extremely fast).

The guys over at Unleash can get this in for you - you're best to phone them to see what can be done.

I import direct from Superbiiz but the shipping is a bit and they treat you like terrorists since you aren't American. Unleash, Public Technology and Compucon are local suppliers. Also try Web-2u, they use heaps and may have a couple spare. You really want the Supermicro motherboard with it.

This is the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Have changed my needs a little bit as now I'm going to run multiple vm's and virtualise all my servers. So will need 2u to combat heating of a more powerful unit
