Some person, using the hotmail email address ksgoconnor@hotmail.com, has decided that they have a contact on one of my domains.

I have emailed them politely and pointed out that they are sending mail to the wrong address but they continue.

The latest email included a 5MB attachment.

Does anyone have experience of contacting hotmail and getting this kind of thing stopped?

I could not find anything on the hotmail home page for reporting abuse.

Push the SPAM button, fastest way to do it. Alternatively just add the address to go straight to deleted file.

Mark their address in outlook.com as a Blocked Sender

I am not using outlook. This person is sending from hotmail to one of my domains.

That will stop it from appearing in the email client but it is still taking up space on the servers and using bandwidth up until the email client deletes it. Marking it as spam does not delete it right away. Given that the emails all arrive with large attachments, that is too much.

5MB is nothing. Filter it out on your server, blacklist it or something.

The server is in the US and accessing it for filters is not straightforward I 'm afraid.

One of the latest emails contained an invoice from a US gardening contractor. I have emailed them to say that I will not pay it. (Perfectly true.) I expect that will start something that the hotmail lady cannot ignore as easily as she ignores my emails to her.

To be honest it sounds like you wont be happy with any outcome except hotmail contacting the user to tell them to stop. Good luck with that!

You are part right. I don't care what makes this person stop I just want it stopped. (I know that I cannot stop spam but this should be stoppable.)

In the end, it seems as though the email to the gardening contractor declining to pay his bill has worked. The emails have stopped.

I normally just create a rule to forward it back to them, if they don't stop I create 10 email addresses on one of my domains and have rules on all of them to forward back to that single person, they get the message rather quickly (no pun intended)

From a whois lookup on hotmail.com it appears they may not correctly have an abuse email contacted listed

registrar abuse: compliance@markmonitor.com

Also something i would do is send them an invoice for the bandwidth - either the sender or the client. 
You can find out who the client is from that invoice you were sent. Or invoice the sender by looking at the invoice and see who its from. 

What the guys above probably dont realise is that when you click the spam button, if your server doesnt share spam lists with other servers, it only stops the messages from arriving in your mailbox.

Non- Hotmail customers should address an email to report_spam@hotmail.com, report_spam@msn.com or report_spam@live.com (Depending on the originating mail domain: hotmail or msn or live).

Attach a copy of the spam email to this email and send it. If we do not receive a copy of the email as an attachment our ability to take action against the spamming account is severely impacted.

* We ask for a full copy of the email so that we have conclusive evidence showing from which Hotmail account the SPAM was sent. It is possible that the email address was spoofed, and we don't want to mistakenly close a non-spamming account.
