Just received

Changes to your Google storage plan

We’re contacting you because you currently pay for additional storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google+ photos, and we wanted to let you know that we just launched new and improved storage plans. We'll automatically adjust your plan by 11 April 2014 to give you a lower rate for the same amount of storage. Your current plan is:

100 GB for $4.99 USD per month Your new plan will be:

100 GB for $1.99 USD per month No action is required, but you can select a different plan at any time.

Great stuff.

Was looking at this last night. Not too shabby. Be interesting to see if the other players (OneDrive, Dropbox etc) follow.

Well its so cheap now I could not actually care if there are other players in the market ..

Google now needs a backup service. Maybe they will buy Crashplan.

Can you set Google Drive to appear as a hard drive in your system?

Sounds good, but not good enough for the hassles of trying to move 76GB out of Dropbox and onto Google. Unless they have some sort of migration tool that allows me to move directly from Dropbox to Google without it all having to come back down & up my ADSL1 connection.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

I moved 300GB from Dropbox to Amazon S3 this week (using a backup program on Mac called Arq to handle the automation).

Somewhat painless with a fibre connection :)

considering most google services are included, quite possibly.. my Gdrive is stored on my ssd though, so never actually tried it..

i have noticed in the past, uploads to youtube can be hit and miss if they count or not.
