I think OP wants to use a google play card to do it though?

Reddit says no:

No experience with it myself.   There's a suggestion on doing it though the ios app though to use an itunes card to pay for it here though:

Looks like they're shifting to google play billing soon, http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/12/31/previously-announced-google-play-billing-drive-storage-already-live/

So I'd say when that happens it will be possible

Hello All

So was going ahead to purchase the 100gb with Google Drive, as I tried to use the google play card $40.. but then when I about to click on it to buy the google drive 100GB, it can't use the google play balance to purchase the 1 year subscription

This is now my 7 working days talking to google via the phone call back facilities and chat facilities on website and here is their response.

Hi Jacky,

I hope you're doing well today!

My name's Lance, I'm working with Em on your case!

Currently your concern has been escalated to our tier 3 support. They're the highest team we can escalate to, and we're still waiting for an update on this. We appreciate your patience regarding this, and will be sure to update you as soon as we receive any news regarding your concern.

Thank you kindly,

Lance
The Google Support Team

honestly, does it really need to get T3 to be involved on this matter and if they said they have escalated to T3, the team at T3 is not helpful by reporting back promptly, it looks like i am begging Google CEO to return my NZ$40 back...
