One of my HDDs died yesterday losing all 454 GB of data on it (mainly MKVs).

I installed a replacement HDD, and CrashPlan restored the drives entire contents in only about 5.5 hours.

This is the first time I've had to restore any large amount of data with CrashPlan, and I have to say I am very impressed at how quickly it did it.

That's actually pretty impressive I reckon.

Did you have other backups though, such as external drives? Or were the other backups older than the crashplan ones. That is pretty quick, although I would hate how long it would take to do my 2TB drives which have lots of small files.

I know it's not best practice, but CrashPlan was my only backup for the data on that drive (not critical data, just some blu-ray rips).

454GB, but only 114 files so I suspect you're right that the same amount of data in smaller files would likely take longer.

Even so, I was still pleasantly surprised.
